I did double check when I first started troubleshooting that there were no rules set. Only a couple of my users use categories, so I don't have much experience with troubleshooting them. Maybe launch Outlook in safe mode not sure if that prevents rules from activating, but still worth a try and see what happens. I'd look at the content of the messages and made dead sure there are no rules set that might be altering the category. You're going to have to find that common denominator.

I added myself, and I see 9 emails with orange and 22 with purple, but on User A, they see 7 orange and 25 purple. The problem is that the colors are different for each user.
